H.E. Dr Farah Faizal, Ambassador of Maldives to the United Kingdom, presented her Letters of Credence to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II today at Buckingham Palace.
Following the presentation of Letters of Credence, a reception was held at the Hyatt Regency London – Churchill Hotel. The event saw more than 100 guests of High Commissioners of Commonwealth countries, Ambassadors of SAARC countries, Members of Maldives UK All Party Parliamentary Group, Senior Officials of the Government of United Kingdom, Think Tanks, Media, Maldivian diaspora and other stake holders.
The event opened with an address by Mr Alister Harrison, Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps. H.E. Dr Farah Faizal, Ambassador of Maldives to the United Kingdom then delivered her remarks; she expressed her hope for the Maldives’ application for reentry into the Commonwealth to be fast-tracked and thanked the Commonwealth Member countries and the United Kingdom for their continued support.
Her Excellency was accompanied by Dr Mohamed Ahmed Didi, Spouse of the Ambassador, Mr Mohamed Nazeer, Trade Representative, and Mr Ismail Mamdhooh, First Secretary.
