The Honorable Defence Minister of India, H.E. Rajnath Singh, arrived on an official visit to the Maldives, on the invitation of the Defence Minister of Maldives, H.E. Mariya Didi.

Upon his arrival at the Velana International Airport, the Defence Minister of India was welcomed by his Maldivian counterpart, H.E. Mariya Didi, accompanied by the Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdhulla Shamaal,.

During the visit, the Defence Ministers of the Maldives and India will hold bilateral talks to enhance defence cooperation and strengthen their long-standing defence and security partnership.

Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister Didi will attend a formal ceremony to hand over an Offshore Patrol Vessel, along with an assault landing craft and inaugurate the development project of the MNDF Coast Guard Harbour and repair facility at Sifavaru.

Additionally, the Indian Defence Minister is expected to call on His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih

The visit of H.E. Rajnath Singh, represents a significant milestone in the relationship between the two countries as it brings a new level of dynamism and impetuous to the already existing defence ties.
