Defence Secretary of India, Shri Giridhar Aramane, called on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel today. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The State Minister welcomed Defence Secretary to the Maldives and reviewed the significant initiatives undertaken in defence cooperation of the two countries. State Minister thanked Defence Secretary for the tremendous contribution of India in bolstering security and defence capacities of the Maldives National Defence Force. State Minister further emphasized on the importance of solidifying joint efforts in addressing the common security challenges to ensure peace and stability in Indian Ocean region. Both State Minister and Defence Secretary discussed on further avenues to consolidate the defence ties of two countries.
The Defence Secretary of India is on a two-day Official Visit to the Maldives to hold the 4th Maldives-India Defence Cooperation Dialogue.
