Non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives to Austria presents Credentials to the President of Austria

The Non - Resident Ambassador of Republic of Maldives to Austria, His Excellency Dr. Asim Ahmed presented his Letter of Credence to the Federal President of Austria, His Excellency Mr. Alexander Van der Bellen, at a ceremony held this morning at the Office of the President of the Republic of Austria. This is the first time Maldives has accredited a non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Austria.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Asim Ahmed conveyed greetings from His Excellency, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to the President, and the People of Austria. Ambassador Asim further expressed commitment to work closely with the Austrian Government during his tenure with a renewed focus in enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During his visit to Vienna, Ambassador Asim Ahmed will pay a courtesy call to the Federal Minister for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology H.E. Leonore Gewessler. He will also meet with Senior Officials from the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce of Vienna to discuss cooperation in their respective areas of expertise.
