The Non-Resident High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Republic of South Africa His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak presented his Letter of Credence to the President of South Africa His Excellency Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, at a ceremony held this afternoon at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse.
During the Credential Ceremony, High Commissioner Omar expressed his gratitude to the South African Government for being given the honour to present his Letter of Credence and serve as the first Non- Resident High Commissioner of Maldives to South Africa and High Commissioner Omar further expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for entrusting him with the opportunity. High Commisioner Omar conveyed greetings from His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to the President and friendly people of South Africa. High Commissioner Omar further expressed commitment to work closely with the South African Government with a renewed focus in enhancing bilateral relationship between both countries. High Commissioner Omar wished every success, peace, prosperity, good health and happiness to the people of South Africa and expressed hope for the relationship between the Maldives and South Africa to prosper to new heights in the coming years.
The President of South Africa congratulated High Commissioner Omar on assumption of his duties as Non-Resident High Commissioner of Maldives to South Africa and expressed hope to work closely with the Maldives in further strengthening the bilateral relations.
The High Commissioner was accompanied to the ceremony by Ms. Aishath Nihad from the High Commission of Maldives in Colombo, Sri Lanka. High Commissioner Razzak is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa Her Excellency Dr Naledi Pandor and other cabinet Ministers during the visit.
